Joel Butler

Joel and I met when I was 21 years old. My daughter, Neveah, was barely seven months old at the time. The situation with her biological father and I was horrible at best. Most men would have ran at the sight of an infant on a woman's hip. But not him. Ironically, Neveah came on our first "date" with me. Joel has been there for both of us ever since, including every milestone. He has been by her side for surgery, for preschool graduation, countless gymnastics and dance practices, the list goes on. Joel often takes Neveah out on "dates" and spent the entire winter rebuilding a power wheels vehicle for Neveah to race. He works 50-60 hours a week, yet still comes home and makes his children a priority. Since being married, we have welcomed a child of our own into this world and that didn't change the way Joel treated Neveah. If someone asks how many kids he has, he answers "two" without any hesitation. He's the proud daddy of two beautiful little girls. Blood doesn't make a family. A family is in the heart. And Joel shows Neveah and I that every single day. He opened his heart to me and my child and I am so thankful to have such an amazing male role model in my children's lives.
